DUA FOR SEEKING FORGIVENESS WHICH LEADS TO MORE KNOWLEDGE & MORE FORTUNE
Another tradition reported from Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) holds: He who says the following imploration for Almighty Allah’s forgiveness four hundred times each day for two successive months, will be granted much knowledge or much fortune:
I implore for the forgiveness of Allah save Whom there is no god,
the Ever-living, the Self-Subsisting,
the All-beneficent, the All-merciful,
and the wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth,
for all of my wrongdoings, offenses,
and transgressions against myself; and I repent to Him.
Al-Tusi and other scholars have stated that it is a highly recommended tradition to say the following supplicatory prayer every day:
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of the light of Your face,
the shining, the ever-living,
the perpetual, and the noble;
and I beseech You in • the name of the light of Your Face,
by which the heavens have shone,
the darkness has been brought to light,
and the affairs of the past and the last generations have been set aright
to send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household
and set aright all of my affairs.
Al-Kaf’ami has reported Imam al-Baqir (a.s.) as saying: He who says the following supplication every day, Almighty Allah will suffice him from the troubles of his two abodes (i.e. the worldly life and the Next Life):
In the Name of Allah.
Sufficient to me is Allah.
In Allah I put my trust.
O Allah, I beseech You for the best of all of my affairs
and I pray for Your protection against disgrace in this world and chastisement in the Hereafter.
It is also reported that whoever repeats the following litany seven times every day, Almighty Allah will suffice him from the troubles of his two abodes:
Sufficient to me is Allah.
My Lord is Allah.
There is no god but Him.
on Him do I rely
and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
It has been also reported that whoever says the following words of glorification every day for a whole year, will not die before he sees (in dream) his place in Paradise:
All glory be to the Eternal and Self-Existent.
All glory be to the Self-Existent and Eternal
All glory be to the One and Single.
All glory be to the Unique and eternally besought of All.
All glory be to the Ever-living and Self-subsisting.
All glory be to Allah and in praise of Him.
All glory be to the Ever-living Who never dies.
All glory be to the King and All-holy.
All glory be to the Lord of the angels and the Spirit.
All glory be to the All-high and Most High.
All glory be to Him and Exalted be He.
