The Supplicatory Amulet of Imam Zayn al-’Abidin(a.s.):
The following supplicatory amulet is reported from Imam Zayn al-’Abidin (a.s.) and repeated twice in the book of Muhaj al-Da’awat.
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
يَاۤ اَسْمَعَ السَّامِعِيْنَ
O most Hearing of all those who can hear!
يَاۤ اَبْصَرَ النَّاظِرِيْنَ
O best Seer of all those who can see!
يَاۤ اَسْرَعَ الْحَاسِبِيْنَ
O swiftest in taking account!
يَاۤ اَحْكَمَ الْحَاكِمِيْنَ
O wisest of all those who are wise!
يَا خَالِقَ الْمَخْلُوْقِيْنَ
O Creator of all the creatures!
يَا رَازِقَ الْمَرْزُوْقِيْنَ
O Sustainers of all those who are granted sustenance!
يَا نَاصِرَ الْمَنْصُوْرِيْنَ
O grantor of victory to all those who are triumphant!
يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
O most merciful of all those who show mercy!
يَا دَلِيْلَ المُتَحَيِّرِيْنَ
O Guide of the perplexed ones!
يَا غِيَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِيْثِيْنَ اَغِثْنِيْ
O Aid of those who pray for aid! Please, do aid me.
يَا مَالِكَ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ
O Master of the Judgment Day!
اِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَ اِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِيْنُ
You do we serve and You do we beseech for help.
يَا صَرِيْخَ الْمَكْرُوْبِيْنَ
O Succor of the aggrieved ones!
يَا مُجِيْبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّيْنَ
O He Who responds to the prayer of the distressed ones!
اَنْتَ اللهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
You are Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
اَنْتَ اللهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْتَ
You are Allah, there is no god save You;
الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِيْنُ
the King and the manifest Just.
الْكِبْرِيَاۤءُ رِدَاۤؤُكَ
Pride is Your dress.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ ۟اِلْمُصْطَفٰى
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad the Chosen Prophet,
وَ عَلٰى عَلِيٍّ ۟اِلْمُرْتَضٰى
Ali the Most Pleased,
وَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاۤءِ
Fatimah the Luminous Lady,
وَ خَدِيْجَةَ الْكُبْرٰى
Khadijah the Grand Lady,
وَ الْحَسَنِ الْمُجْتَبٰى
al-Hasan the well-selected,
وَ الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدِ بِكَرْبَلَاۤءَ،
al-Husayn the martyred in Karbala',
عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ زَيْنِ الْعَابِدِيْنَ
Ali ibn al-Husayn the Adornment of the Worshippers,
وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ۟اِلْبَاقِرِ
Muhammad ibn 'Ali the Cleaver (of knowledge),
وَ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ۟اِلصَّادِقِ
Ja'far ibn Muhammad the Veracious,
وَ مُوْسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ۟اِلْكَاظِمِ
Musa ibn Ja'far the Suppressor (of rage),
وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوْسَى الرِّضَا
Ali ibn Musa the Amicable,
وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ۟اِلتَّقِيِّ
Muhammad ibn 'Ali the Pious,
وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ۟اِلنَّقِيِّ
Ali ibn Muhammad the Pure,
وَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ۟اِلْعَسْكَرِيِّ
al-Hasan al-'Askari,
وَ الْحُجَّةِ الْقَاۤئِمِ الْمَهْدِيِّ
and the Argument (of Allah), the Raiser (of the right), the Well-guided (al-Mahdl),
الْاِمَامِ الْمُنْتَظَرِ
and the Awaited Imam.
صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ
Blessings of Allah be upon them all.
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ وَالَاهُمْ
O Allah, (please do) support him who supports them,
وَ عَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُمْ
be the enemy of him who antagonizes them,
وَ انْصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَهُمْ
give victory to him who backs them,
وَ اخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَهُمْ
disappoint him who disappoints them,
وَ الْعَنْ مَنْ ظَلَمَهُمْ
curse him who wrongs them,
وَ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
make nearer the Relief of Muhammad’s Household,
وَ انْصُرْ شِيْعَةَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
give victory to the partisans of Muhammad’s Household,
وَ اَهْلِكْ اَعْدَاۤءَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
annihilate the enemies of Muhammad’s Household,
وَ ارْزُقْنِيْ رُؤْيَةَ قَاۤئِمِ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
grant me the honor of seeing the expected Imam from Muhammad’s Household,
وَ اجْعَلْنِيْ مِنْ اَتْبَاعِهِ وَ اَشْيَاعِهِ وَ الرَّاضِيْنَ بِفِعْلِهِ
include me with his followers, adherents,
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
and those who are pleased with his deeds,
