DUA FOR PROTECTION OF THE HOUSE FROM DAMAGE & THEFT
If you fear lest your house or the place where you sleep may collapse on you, you may recite this holy verse of Surah of Fatir (No. 35):
اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُمْسِكُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضَ اَنْ تَزُوْلَا
Surely, Allah upholds the heavens and the earth lest they come to naught;
وَ لَئِنْ زَالَتَا اِنْ اَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ اَحَدٍ مِّنْ بَعْدِهِ
and if they should come to naught, there is none who can uphold them after Him.
اِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيْمًا غَفُوْرًا۔
Surely, He is Forbearing, Forgiving.
If you fear thieves, you may recite the last two holy verses of Surah al-Isra’ (No. 17):
قُلِ ادْعُوا اللّٰهَ اَوِ ادْعُوا الرَّحْمٰنَ ؕ
Say: Call upon Allah or call upon the Beneficent Allah;
اَ يًّا مَّا تَدْعُوْا فَلَهُ الْاَسْمَآءُ الْحُسْنٰى ۚ
whichever you call upon, He has the best names;
وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا
and do not utter your prayer with a very raised voice nor be silent with regard to it,
وَابْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذٰ لِكَ سَبِيْلًا(110)
and seek a way between these.
وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا
And say: All praise is due to Allah Who has not taken a son,
وَّلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهٗ شَرِيْكٌ فِى الْمُلْكِ
Who has not a partner in the kingdom,
وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَّهٗ وَلِىٌّ مِّنَ الذُّلِّ
and Who has not a helper to save Him from disgrace;
وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيْرًا(111)
and proclaim His greatness with magnificence Him.
