The ninth hour, which is the space of time between the Afternoon Prayer up to two hours after that, is dedicated to Imam Muhammad ibn Ali al-Taqi(a.s.). The supplication at this hour is as follows:
يَا مَنْ دَعَاهُ الْمُضْطَرُّوْنَ فَاَجَابَهُمْ
O He Who, when the distressed prayed Him, responded to them,
وَالْتَجَاَ اِلَيْهِالْخَاۤئِفُوْنَ فَامَنَهُمْ
when the afraid had recourse with Him, granted them security,
وَعَبَدَهُ الطَّاۤئِعُوْنَ فَشَكَرَ هُمْ
when the obedient served Him, thanked them,
وَ شَكَرَهُ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ فَحَبَاهُمْ
when the believers thanked Him, favored upon them,
وَ اَطَاعُوْهُ فَعَصَمَهُمْ
when they obeyed Him, safeguarded them,
وَ سَئَلُوْهُ فَاَعْطَاهُمْ
when they asked Him, gave them,
وَ نَسُوْا نِعَمَتَهُ فَلَمْ يُخْلِ شُكْرَهُ مِنْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ
and when they forgot His grace, did not evacuate thanking Him from their hearts;
وَامْتَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يَجْعَلِ اسْمَهَ مَنْسِيًّا عِنْدَهُمْ
and He favored them when He did not make His Name forgotten by them.
اَسْئَلُكَ بِحَقِّ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ
I beseech You in the name of Muhammad, the son of 'Ali,
عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ
peace be upon both of them,
حُجَّتِكَ الْبَالِغَةِ
You conclusive argument,
وَ نِعْمَتِكَ السَّابِغَةِ
affluent grace,
وَ مَحَجَّتِكَ الْوَاضِحَةِ
and patent course,
وَ اُقَدِّمُهُ بَيْنَ يَدَىْ حَوَاۤئِجِىْ
and I present him as my mediation for the settling of my needs,
