SURAH AL-LAHAB (THE FLAME)
There are 5 verses in this surah and it is ‘Makki’. Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) advised that whenever a person recites this surah, he should curse Abu Lahab because he ill-treated the Holy Prophet (S) and showed disrespect to him.
It is narrated that recitation of this surah is good for relieving back pains and reciting it before sleeping keeps one safe in the night.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
<font color="000000"><b>In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.</b></font>
تَبَّتْ يَدَاۤ اَبِىْ لَهَبٍ وَّتَبَّؕ(1)
<font color="000000"><b>(1) Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish.</b></font>
مَاۤ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُ مَالُهٗ وَمَا كَسَبَؕ(2)
<font color="000000"><b>(2) His wealth and what he earns will not avail him.</b></font>
سَيَصْلٰى نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ۖۚ(3)
<font color="000000"><b>(3) He shall soon burn in fire that flames,</b></font>
وَّامْرَاَ تُهٗ ؕ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِۚ(4)
<font color="000000"><b>(4) And his wife, the bearer of fuel,</b></font>
فِىْ جِيْدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّنْ مَّسَدٍ(5)
<font color="000000"><b>(5) Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope.</b></font>
