The Supplication of the Light.
In Muhaj al-Da’awat, Sayyid Ibn Tawus has mentioned a narration quoting Salman as saying, “Lady Fatimah al-Zahra’(a.s.) conveyed to me some words that she had learnt from the Holy Messenger (s.a.w.a.) and she used to repeat them each morning and evening. Moreover, she said that if you would like not to be afflicted by the harm of fever as long as you live in this world, you may say this supplicatory prayer regularly:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
بِسْمِ اللهِ النُّوْرِ
In the Name of Allah, the Light.
بِسْمِ اللهِ نُوْرِ النُّوْرِ
In the Name of Allah, the Light of the Light.
بِسْمِ اللهِ نُوْرٌ عَلٰى نُوْرٍ
In the Name of Allah; Light on Light.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِىْ هُوَ مُدَبِّرُ الْاُمُوْرِ
In the Name of Allah Who is the Manager of all affairs.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِىْ خَلَقَ النُّوْرَ مِنَ النُّوْرِ
In the Name of Allah Who has created the Light from the Light.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ خَلَقَ النُّوْرَ مِنَ النُّوْرِ
All praise be to Allah Who has created the Light from the Light
وَاَنْزَلَ النُّوْرَ عَلىَ الطُّوْرِ
and has revealed the Light on the Mount,
فِىْ كِتَابٍ مَسْطُوْرٍ
in a Scripture inscribed,
فِىْ رَقٍّ مَنْشُوْرٍ
on fine parchment unrolled,
بِقَدَرٍ مَقْدُوْرٍ
in measure that is pre-appointed,
عَلٰى نَبِيٍّ مَحْبُوْرٍ
on a Reverent Prophet.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ هُوَ بِالْعِزِّ مَذْكُوْرٌ
All praise be to Allah Who is always mentioned with honor,
وَبِالْفَخْرِ مَشْهُوْرٌ
known for pride,
وَعَلَى السَّرَّاۤءِ وَالضَّرَّاۤءِ مَشْكُوْرٌ
and thanked in joy and grief.
وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلٰى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ۔
May Allah bless Muhammad and his Household, the pure.
Salman then added, “As I learnt by heart these words, I conveyed them to more than one thousand persons in al-Madinah and Makkah who had been infected with fever and they all were healed by the will of Almighty Allah.
